He has made ‘Prisoners' to reflect some of the social subjects in the current Iranian society. In ‘Prisoners the viewers, who are familiar with Dehnamaki’s previous works, find themselves watching a film with new narrative.   

Comedy has long been the most favorite genre in Iran cinema industry. This is one of the reasons that Dehnamaki chooses this genre for his new product.

 The evaluation of bestselling Iranian movies chart easily reveals that comedy is the dominant genre for attracting cinemagoers.

More precise evaluations have shown that the most faithful people to cinema industry choose comedy to spend their money on and go to cinema to watch it.

The director of ‘Prisoners’ has selected a time setting for the movie which deals with contemporary history and present time but he uses comedy as the launch pad of this new narrative. He usually chooses challenging subjects to make his films about.
